West Bengal Police Recruitment 2021

 

The Recruitment Board of West Bengal Police has issued notification for appointment to multiple posts. Constables, female constables, sub-inspectors, female sub-inspectors, and sub-inspectors (armed forces) will be appointed. The total number of vacancies is 9,620 (6,632 for constables and 1,06 for sub-inspectors).

Number of Terms

  • Constable – 6,440.
  • Female Constables – 1,192.
  • Sub-Inspector – 653.
  • Female Sub-Inspector – 150.
  • Sub-Inspector (Armed Forces, Male only) – 185.

Age

Constable – As of January 1, 2021, the age of the applicant cannot be below 20 and above 28. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates have been given a five-year exemption from the maximum age limit. OBC candidates from West Bengal will get three years discount.

Educational Qualifications

Constable – Firstly, applicants must pass a secondary or equivalent examination from a recognized board. Secondly, they need to know how to speak, write and read in Bengali. However, that rule does not apply to applicants from Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.

Sub-Inspector – Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a recognized university. As a constable, applicants need to know how to speak, write and read in Bengali. However, that rule does not apply to applicants from Darjeeling and Kalimpong districts.

Application Fee

Constable – Unreserved candidates will have to pay Rs 175 to apply online (those who will deposit money through debit card or credit card or net banking or e-wallet or other apps). Candidates can submit an online application through ‘Sahaj Mitra Kendra’, a fee of Tk 193 (inclusive of service cost including GST). Besides, candidates can deposit their fees through Punjab National Bank. In that case, 206 rupees (including GST) has to be deposited. Candidates for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in West Bengal will have to pay only Rs. 20 as processing fee. With GST, ‘Sahaj Mitra Kendra’ and the bank will have to pay extra.

Sub-Inspector – Unreserved candidates will have to pay Rs 265 for online application (those who will deposit money through debit card or credit card or net banking or e-wallet or another app). To submit an online application through ‘Sahaj Mitra Kendra’, a fee of Rs 293 (inclusive of service cost including GST) has to be paid. Besides, candidates can deposit their fees through Punjab National Bank. In that case, you have to deposit 308 rupees (including GST). Candidates for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes in West Bengal will have to pay only Rs. 20 as processing fee. With GST, ‘Sahaj Mitra Kendra’ and the bank will have to pay extra.
